Residents in the Ottawa and Heritage Drive area of Kitchener are outraged after vandals broke into more than 30 vehicles overnight.

Car windows were smashed in the above and underground apartment parking lots.

Some vehicle tires were even wrapped in toilet paper and set on fire.

Several more windows were also broken into at Crestview Public School nearby.

People who live in the area are very worried as Friday night’s vandalism spree is just the latest in a string of attempted vehicle break-ins over the last two weeks.

Police are reminding people not to keep valuables in their cars and to be vigilant while walking.

Police will also be beefing up patrols in the area and are hoping to catch the vandals.
