Waterloo Regional Police used a Taser on a man while responding to a call in Baden over the weekend.

The incident occurred early Saturday morning, in the area of Brewery Street.

According to police, a man refused to pay his taxi fare – prompting the driver to call police.

When officers arrived, the 42-year-old New Hamburg man allegedly became aggressive, at which point the Taser was deployed and the man was taken into custody.

After being taken to hospital and found not to be injured, the man was charged with public intoxication.
