A 25-year-old Windsor man was seriously injured after a workplace accident in Tecumseh on Thursday.

The man was employed by a roofing company, who were building multi-level retirement home on Riverside Drive.

Around 11:30 a.m., he was helping a backhoe pull a large portable crane from the mud when he was trapped between the two.

The man was quickly freed and taken to hospital with serious injuries.

The OPP and the Ministry of Labour are investigating the incident.

The Ministry of Labour is also investigating a second workplace accident, this time at a manufacturing plant in Woodstock.

Police say two workers at Tigercat Inc. suffered minor injuries when they were struck by ventilation equipment that became loose, fell to the floor and then rolled towards the workers.

Both men were taken to hospital where they were treated and released.
