Police have intensified their search for a white Ford pickup truck in connection with a hit and run that left a Cambridge man dead.

The victim, 49-year-old Joseph Lalonde, who went by the name Paul, was struck by two different vehicles on Cedar St. at around 6:00 p.m. on Nov. 26.

"We are broadening our canvas to include all the motorists and pedestrians that are using the roadway on a regular basis," said Sgt. John Vanbreda.

On Saturday evening, police were asking drivers and pedestrians in the area of the incident if they had seen anything.

"When you have a large investigation you're not really sure how their information fits and that's a piece that could be very vital to our success," said John Vanbreda.

Police say the truck has a white cap on the back and will have damage to the driver's side headlight and mirror.

The vehicle was initially believed to be a Ford F-250, but police have since expanded their search to include F-250, F-350 and F-550 super duty pickup trucks from the model years 1999 to 2001, as well as Ford Excursions from model years 2000 to 2002.
