A section of Water Street was closed near the Delta intersection Monday as firefighters battled a house fire in the area.
The fire broke out around 4:30 p.m., at a house on Water between Dando Avenue and Dayton Street. Around that time, a significant amount of smoke was seen coming from the building.
Later in the afternoon, firefighters were seen taking fans into the home to vent smoke.
Information on the cause of the fire and the extent of damage was not immediately available.
