It’s a 748-square foot bungalow on a quiet street near downtown Brantford.
While on the small side, a look around the property suggests it’s nothing more than the cozy-but-otherwise-perfectly-normal house its $239,900 list price would suggest.
But anyone who gets inside leaves with one question on their mind: What’s with all the clowns?
“There’s clowns everywhere,” says Branden Eldridge, a Hamilton-based real estate agent who toured the house on Tuesday.
“I don’t want to say too many details about the inside of their personal home, but there are a lot of clowns in there. Every room is full.”
That may be an understatement. In addition to hundreds of clown figurines displayed around the home, there are clowns on the wallpaper and clown stickers on some of the windows.
Marilyn Sullivan lives near the Chatham Street home. She knew about the stickers, but didn’t realize what things were like inside until a friend showed her the real estate listing, which has made waves across the Canadian corner of the internet this week.
“It was kind of like ‘What’s with all these clowns? What drove him to do this?’” she says.
Sullivan describes the couple who live at the home as “really wonderful people” who put a lot of time and effort into maintaining their property.
“We’re kind of sad that they’ve got it up for sale,” she says.
The real estate agent handling the sale of the house says the couple plan to take the clowns with them when they move out.
