Mourners wore yellow and children dressed as superheroes as they gathered Saturday to celebrate the life of the Cambridge boy known as ‘Miracle’ Max, who recently died after living with a combination of rare health disorders.

A Cambridge church was packed with hundreds of family and friends of young Maxwell Taylor, the five year old many in his community called ‘Miracle’ Max.

"He overcame obstacles that people would have no clue as to how to even begin to overcome them," said family friend Deanna Pitts.

Max suffered from numerous rare disorders that affected his body and his brain.

His family sought treatment at a children's hospital in Philadelphia and it was there that Max died earlier this month.

But Max had defied the odds, outliving a bleak prognosis handed down shortly after he was born.

"We were told to bring him home at 52 days and that he had six months to live. We refused to believe that he couldn't do what the other kids could do," said Jo Tambeau, Max’s grandmother.

Max's father said his son lived his life to the fullest and was an inspiration to many.
