One person was killed Monday evening in a head-on crash in Norfolk County, just outside Brant County.
Emergency responders were called to Brantford Road between Windham Road 2 and Burford-Delhi Townline Road – southwest of Scotland – around 6 p.m.
Police say the crash involved a northbound transport truck and a southbound passenger vehicle, and resulted in the passenger vehicle catching fire.
“The driver of the motor vehicle … was subsequently pronounced deceased on scene,” said Norfolk County OPP Const. Ed Sanchuk.
The driver of the transport truck was uninjured, and the cause of the crash remains under investigation.
Brantford Road runs straight and narrow in the area where it occurred, and police say roads were wet and damp at the time.
Police have spoken to a number of witnesses, but still want to hear from anyone else with relevant information.
