A Norfolk County woman is dead after being struck by a pickup truck in downtown Delhi.
Norfolk County OPP say a woman was walking along the sidewalk near the corner of Main Street and King Street Thursday around 7:30 p.m. As she was crossing the intersection, a pickup truck struck her as the driver made a left-hand turn onto King Street.
The 68-year-old woman suffered serious injuries and was rushed to hospital. She was then taken to a hospital in Hamilton for further treatment. She succumbed to her injuries some time later.
King Street was closed for approximately five hours as police conducted their initial investigation.
Officials say charges are pending against the driver of the truck.
