With rivers nearing their normal fall flows and little more precipitation in the forecast, the Grand River Conservation Authority has cancelled all flood warnings and watches across the watershed.

Warnings were issued Monday for the Nith River in New Hamburg and Ayr, as well as the Conestogo River in St. Jacobs, while parts of the Grand River basin were under a watch.

Thursday, GRCA officials said the risk of flooding has passed as river levels have hit their peaks and begun to recede.

Water stored in GRCA reservoirs is being discharged at an increased rate, in an attempt to get reservoir levels back to normal for this time of year.

Despite the warnings and watches ending, the low-level bridge on Three Bridges Road near St. Jacobs remains closed.

It’s expected to reopen by the weekend.
