For the third time in less than three months, Hamilton Police have charged a Kitchener man with a criminal offence.
Geoffrey Burnet was first arrested in September on charges of sexual interference and invitation to sexual touching.
In November, charges of making and distributing child pornography were added to the list after police connected Burnet to Project Links, a massive investigation into a seven-year-old girl allegedly being made available for sexual services.
On Friday, they announced that Burnet has also been charged with one count of sexual exploitation – an offence involving sexual touching or the suggesting of sexual touching of a minor by a person in a position of trust or authority.
Police say the new allegation was brought forward by a “young female” from Hamilton.
Burnet, 48, was released from custody earlier this week on bail, and has returned to Kitchener. His bail terms include staying away from places where children could be.
Burnet worked for the Upper Grand District School Board between 2011 and 2013. He was also previously employed by school boards in Toronto and Hamilton.
