A high speed police chase that started in Norfolk county, ended with a violent crash in Oxford County early Tuesday morning.

Provincial police chased a stolen jeep Cherokee with speeds reaching up to 160-kilometres per hour. Police say the jeep was swerving on and off the road avoiding a spike belt and oncoming traffic.

It eventually crashed into a parked transport truck on highway 19 near Sweaburg road. A police cruiser was also hit.  The driver of the jeep was ejected and tried to run off but was arrested.

Both the suspect and the truck driver suffered minor injuries.
