The woman charged in connection with a deadly crash last summer at the London Costco store finally took the witness stand.
66-year-old Ruth Burger weeped as she told the courtroom her foot got caught under the brake. She says the more she tried to wiggle it free, the faster the car went.
Her car reversed into the store, seriously injuring a pregnant mother, her three-year-old daughter and killing her six-year-old daughter.
The mother’s baby was delivered by emergency C-section, but died a week later.
Burger has pleaded not guilty to four charges including two counts of criminal negligence causing death.
The judge is expected to have a decision on June 19.
