The Guelph Police Service kicked off an investigation Monday involving a stolen vehicle from the downtown area.

It was found the next day on New Year’s Eve and as a result, a suspect was identified.

Around 2 p.m. on Tuesday, a 33-year-old Guelph man was arrested and charged with theft of a motor vehicle, operation while prohibited and breaching a probation order.

The man is alleged to have had drugs at the time such as fentanyl and crystal methamphetamine.
