Winter storm warnings ended shortly before 11 a.m. Monday in southern Ontario – but the shovelling and sledding are far from over.

By that hour, the edge a snowstorm moving west-to-east across the province was nearing the Ottawa area, with the bulk of the storm in Quebec.

The storm system brought snow steadily beginning Sunday evening, with Environment Canada reporting 37 cm of snowfall in Windsor and 21 cm in London.

The agency reported 31 cm of snowfall in Tillsonburg and 25 cm in Fergus.

Kitchener and Waterloo had seen between 20 and 30 cm of snow, with Cambridge sitting at 18 cm – and blowing snow still a concern as of late Monday morning.

While snow had essentially stopped falling by that point, Environment Canada expected high winds to continue fueling blowing snow in localized areas through the day.
