A paramedic’s bag was stolen as Region of Waterloo EMS responded to an emergency in Cambridge, regional officials say.
According to a press release from the region, the bag in question was with a paramedic team that responded to an issue around King and Dolph streets Thursday night.
It was placed on the floor, and then taken away from the area.
Michael Adair, the region’s deputy EMS chief, says that the bag contained no narcotics, but instead drugs used to treat heart, breathing and diabetic problems.
“The drugs in there … are still very powerful and the effects of swallowing or injecting them could be fatal,” he said in the release.
The bag is orange and marked with the phrase “Waterloo EMS Adult ALS”.
