Two students, driver injured in crash involving school bus
Two children and a school bus driver were taken to hospital Thursday after a serious crash in Perth County.
A school bus and commercial vehicle collided just before 3 p.m. at Perth Road 107 and Line 45, west of Wellesley.
Ornge said one teenager, 16-year-old who was a passenger on the bus, was airlifted to a London hospital.
Bill Hunter, the Fire Chief for Perth East, told CTV News the bus driver and another student, aged 14, were transported to a local hospital by land ambulance.
"All three injured parties received non-life threatening injuries as a result of the collision," a Friday media release said.
The driver of the commercial vehicle wasn't injured.
The bus involved in the crash was operated by Student Transportation Services of Waterloo Region.
General manager Benoit Bourgault told CTV News the company is cooperating with authories and wishes the students and driver a prompt recovery.
Perth Road 107 was closed at Line 47, Line 45 and Line 43 on Thursday evening.
The road reopened on Friday morning, but OPP said they may need to close the area again to remove one of the vehicles involved in the crash.
OPP are asking drivers to avoid the area.
