Search continues for Hwy 85 hit and run driver
Police are looking for a driver who fled the scene after a crash on Highway 85 southbound Tuesday morning.
The collision, near the Wellington Street exit around 7:50 a.m., caused major delays during the morning commute.
The driver who police are looking for was in a black Honda Civic that collided with a transport truck carrying diesel fuel, according to Waterloo regional police.
No injuries were reported but fuel spilled onto the road.
The Civic was found a short distance away from the scene of the crash but the driver had fled the area.
As of 12:15 p.m., police said proper environmental safety and cleaning measures had been completed.
The southbound highway was fully reopened shortly before 6 p.m.
