Lisa Hoffman says she woke up early Friday morning to the sound of a “big bang.”
When she got up to investigate, she found a big hole in her family’s dining room window, and a rock that had evidently been thrown through it.
“You just can’t believe that that would happen,” said Hoffman, who lives in southeast Kitchener.
“It’s a quiet neighbourhood.”
Hoffman’s house wasn’t the only one hit.
Neighbour Jason Reis says he heard “a loud noise, a little bit of a crash and a thud” shortly before 4 a.m.
His house, too, ended up with a shattered window near the dining room.
In total, police say they’re investigating four similar incidents, all in the same neighbourhood.
“We are looking for people in that area who may have seen an individual or individuals responsible for this,” said Waterloo Regional Police spokesperson Alana Russell.
Both Hoffman and Reis said that the rocks used to smash their windows had been sitting in their front gardens prior to Friday morning.
