A multi-million-dollar boost for home care services provided through the Waterloo Wellington Community Care Access Centre was announced Friday.
Cambridge MPP Kathryn McGarry made the announcement of $4.77 million in funding.
Most of the money is expected to be spent on patients with complex care needs, while about $950,000 will be set aside to help caregivers needing additional support.
According to the CCAC, there was a 120 per cent increase in the number of local patients with complex health conditions in the past year.
