As police searched the former home of Linda and Cheyenne Daniel on Wednesday, new information was coming to light about the man accused of killing them.
Forensic officers, police dogs and a drone were among the items seen outside a home on Hessen Strasse, just outside St. Clements.
A Waterloo Regional Police spokesperson would not confirm that the investigation was related to the deaths of the Daniels, and said no information would be provided until Thursday.
CTV News has learned that the property being searched was the same one the Daniels were living at in 2011.
After the mother and daughter were reported missing in December 2015, police were only able to trace their whereabouts up to July 2011.
At that time, officials at nearby Linwood Public School were told that Cheyenne Daniel – then 13 years old – was moving out of the province and would not be returning in September.
Glenn Bauman, who was Linda Daniel’s common-law partner and Cheyenne’s stepfather at the time of their disappearances, is charged with first-degree murder in their deaths.
He was arrested without incident last week in northwestern Alberta.
Bauman had been working at a trucking company involved in the oil fields industry, according to his manager at that company, but quit that job earlier this month.
