Waterloo Regional Police are investigating a suspicious death in Cambridge at a townhouse complex.

At approximately 11:35 p.m. on Friday, police say they responded to an address on Glamis Road for a report of a suspicious death.

According to police, a woman was found dead in one of the homes after a concerned family member called them, worried she may have suffered a medical emergency.

Police say they’ve increased their presence in the area as investigators and forensic identification officers process evidence and speak with neighbours in the area.

Police say they have no concerns for public safety.

Neighbours say the male owner of the unit had recently moved with the woman about a month ago, but police say he is not a suspect.

“We are confident that he's not involved and that's he's safe,” said Sgt. Ken Taylor, of the Waterloo Regional Police Service.

Next of kin are being notified and police say a post mortem is planned for tomorrow to determine the cause of death.
