One dead, another hurt in Cambridge shooting

One man has died and another person was taken to hospital with serious injuries after a shooting in Cambridge.

Waterloo Regional Police Service officers were called to the Lena Crescent and Pamela Lane area on Wednesday around 8:35 p.m. after they received reports of gunshots in the residential area behind the Cambridge Centre.

When they arrived, police found a 40-year-old Cambridge man who had been shot. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Meanwhile, another victim, a 31-year-old Cambridge man, was found outside a home with a gunshot wound and taken to hospital with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.

Investigators believe this was a targeted incident.

People in the area may notice officers throughout the day on Thursday as investigators conduct a canvas.

Police are still looking for suspects and witnesses.
