Damage is now estimated at $1 million in a weekend fire at a pet food manufacturing plant in New Hamburg.
Saturday afternoon, flames broke out at the Eurocan plant.
It was an intense fire which occupied firefighters for several hours, with thick smoke complicating matters.
Nobody was inside when the fire began.
Monday, investigators from the Office of the Fire Marshal were back at the factory, continuing their investigation into the fire.
Late in the day, they turned the site back over to the property owner.
A spokesperson for the OFM said more time is needed to analyze the findings from the site.
They would not say whether the fire may have been suspicious in nature – but it is believed to have started inside one of the plant’s eight ovens.
