Guelph Police are investigating after cash was stolen from a nursing home.

On Wednesday just before 9 a.m., police were called to Metcalfe Street and Speedvale Avenue East after the owner arrived and found damage inside.

Police determined suspects had entered the vacant building overnight by prying open a door leading to the basement. They said several doors inside the building were damaged and security cameras were either damaged or removed completely. An undisclosed amount of cash was stolen from a safe in an office.

Anyone with information is asked to call Constable Cameron Keddie at 519-824-1212, ext. 7431 or email ckeddie@guelphpolice.ca.
