Testimony continued at the murder trial of Hugh McColl in Kitchener on Friday.
McColl faces charges of second degree murder and indecent interference of human remains in the death of his roommate Kate Reid in January of 2015.
Two witnesses were called to testify on Friday.
Rick Sullivan, a neighbour of Kate Reid's, says he found her frozen body outside her Burn Place apartment.
He testified that he found her body and head wrapped in separate bags, half frozen in a snow bank. The bags were a few feet from the apartment’s dumpster and covered in a pile of brush.
Rick Sullivan previously worked with a body removal service and says he was familiar with cadavers.
He says he cut open part of one bag, noticed blood, and recognized it as a body.
Another neighbor, Gary Mombourquette, also testified that he came across the bags and saw McColl clearing out the hedges around the building before eventually moving out.
Hugh McColl has pleaded guilty to indecent interference of human remains but not guilty to second degree murder.
The defence claims it was self defence when he struck Reid in the head with a hammer.
