A man wanted for the murder of a 22-year-old Kitchener woman was seen in Tennessee over the weekend, Waterloo Regional Police say.
Ager Hasan, a Hamilton resident, has been at large since April 28.
Police allege that he stabbed his ex-girlfriend Melinda Vasilije to death early that morning, then crossed into the United States via the Peace Bridge. They have said that he was seen later that day stealing Pennsylvania licence plates from a parked vehicle in Erie County, Penn.
While police have said that they have been in contact with Hasan since April 29, there was no official word on his whereabouts.
That changed Wednesday afternoon, when police said that Hasan had been seen in or around Tennessee on May 20.
Specifically, police say he was spotted at a truck stop along Interstate 40 near the community of Hurricane Mills, which is about 120 kilometres west of Nashville.
According to police, Hasan was still driving a Honda HR-V with Ontario or Pennsylvania licence plates, and gave indications that he could be making his way to Mexico.

Vasilije had recently moved into an apartment on Country Hill Drive in Kitchener. Police have said that Hasan was under a court order not to contact her or to spend time in Waterloo Region.
If arrested, Hasan will be facing charges of second-degree murder and breaching court orders.
