A forensic search at a home formerly owned by Glenn Bauman has resulted in the discovery of human remains, Waterloo Regional Police say.
Bauman is accused of killing his wife Linda Daniel and her daughter Cheyenne, who disappeared in July 2011.
At the time, Linda was 47 years old. Cheyenne was 13. The three had been living together at a home on Hessen Strasse near St. Clements.
Bauman was arrested last month in Valleyview, Alta., where he had been working as a truck driver in the oil industry.
His lawyer has said that he intends to plead not guilty to the charges of first-degree murder and indignity to a body.
After Bauman’s arrest, police said that they were confident in their case against the 41-year-old even though they had not found the bodies of the Daniels.
The remains found during the recent search of the Hessen Strasse property will now be sent for forensic analysis.
It may take several months before it is clear who the remains belong to, police said Tuesday.
