Firefighters revived an unconscious man found inside his burning Woodstock home Wednesday morning.

The blaze broke out at the Hunter Street home around 4 a.m.

By the time fire crews arrived the house was fully engulfed.

“We did find one resident of the home in the back. We were able to bring him out, revive him, and he was sent to Woodstock General Hospital," said Lisa Woods of the Woodstock Fire Department.

The man was later transferred to a hospital in Toronto. His condition isn’t known.

Neighbours say the owners had just moved in a few months ago.

"I'm devastated. They just bought the house. They just moved in there," said Brenda Brown.

The house was almost entirely destroyed by the fire.

Investigators have yet to determine how the fire started but at this point it isn’t considered suspicious.

Damage is estimated to be $150,000.
