HAMILTON -- A 66-year old Hamilton man is facing charges involving the unlawful use of military uniforms.
Police say they began their investigation in December, focusing on a suspect who attended some citizenship ceremonies wearing military uniforms decked out with medals of questionable service.
A search warrant was executed yesterday during which officers seized several uniforms and medals from conflicts ranging from the Vietnam war to the campaign in Afghanistan.
Along with unlawful use of military uniforms the suspect was also charged with personating a peace officer.
He was released on a promise to appear in court to answer the charges.
