Police are investigating two deaths at a Brock Street home in Kitchener.

“At approximately 10:16 this morning we received a phone call of an incident involving gunshots. We’re currently investigating a firearms related incident at the address here,” said Pat Dietrich, superintendent with Waterloo Regional Police Services.

Police say and adult female and adult male who were known to each other were pronounced dead at the scene. A post mortem will be conducted Monday to determine the cause of death. No names have been released while police notify next of kin.

“I can say that right now there is no community safety concerns in relation to this incident,” Dietrich said.

Neighbours tell CTV News they heard gun shots.

“We heard five shots, and it sounded like it was on our street, and didn’t think nothing of it until we heard the sirens,” said Paul Zilnay who lives around the corner.

Neighbour Shelagh Ranalli said a couple lives in the home, and have been there for years. She would often see them out walking their dog.

“You never know what’s going on in people’s lives but they always seemed to be happy and pleasant people,” Ranalli said.

Police continue to investigate.
