It will take a judge several days to decide whether to release videotapes showing teenage inmate Ashley Smith being forcibly restrained and injected with drugs.

The family of the mentally-ill New Brunswick teen who died in an Ontario prison five years ago says the footage should be used in a judicial review on May 2nd.

That review will examine whether the coroner was wrong not to include the tapes in an upcoming inquest into Smith's death.

Corrections Canada had asked the court to quash a summons calling for its commissioner to appear in court with the videos.
