It’s the first official day on the job for newly elected member of provincial parliament Catherine Fife.

She was sworn in at Queen’s Park in Toronto Wednesday morning as members of her family and friends watched.

Fife took the Oath of Allegiance, something all newly elected MPP’s must take.

Andrea Horwath, the leader of the Ontario New Democrat Party, was also by Fife’s side.

Fife’s win meant the McGuinty Liberal’s lost out on a majority government and it also meant the Progressive Conservative’s lost a seat held by former MPP Elizabeth Witmer.
