Norfolk County OPP are investigating a fatal motorcycle accident in Port Rowan.

They say a 66-year old Brant County man died Friday evening after his Honda ran off the road on a curve and crashed into a ravine.

Police say at around 8:30 p.m. they were contacted by concerned family members when the motorcyclist never made it home.

Constable Ed Sanchuk says,  "The deceased was supposed to be home at approximately 4 o'clock  so sometime between 1 o'clock and 4 o'clock the collision occurred."

According to OPP both police and the family began searching.

"We attempted to ping his cell phone. There was a cell phone that was in use and we were within about 300 yards of the cellphone," says Sanchuk.

He goes on to say that it was the man's family that found his orange Honda bike in the ravine.

Neighbours say this isn't the first crash on this stretch of road. Drivers often take these turns too fast and can't see cars coming towards them.

"There's several accidents on this road. Mainly because it's windy and no one slows down," says local resident Lisa Aker.

Police say it doesn't appear speed or alcohol were factors, but say they are still investigating what lead to the crash.

The man's identity hasn't been released.
