The future of the Boathouse remains up in the air but Sunday it opened its doors again for a few hours.
Friday the City of Kitchener announced that the Boathouse owes over five months of rent and utilities.
There was a closed signed posted on the door with events cancelled on Friday and Saturday.
But the city hasn’t taken over the building yet so Sunday the venue was operating and serving customers.
City officials have said they are still hopeful the money that’s owed can be repaid. A further course of action will be decided on Monday.
