A Brant County man faces nine more charges in connection with a stabbing incident in Paris.

The stabbing occurred Sunday night inside an apartment unit on West River Street.

Police have said that they believe the occupant of the apartment came home to find an intruder insider, at which point a struggle ensued.

The occupant was taken to a Hamilton hospital with serious injuries, but later listed in stable condition.

The alleged intruder, 35-year-old Christopher Laframboise, was treated in hospital for less severe injuries.

Since his discharge from the hospital, Laframboise has been in police custody.

He was initially charged with aggravated assault as well as breaking and entering.

Thursday, police said additional charges have been laid including attempted murder, forcible confinement, possession of property obtained by crime and other offences.
