Two men were stabbed Sunday evening during an altercation in Paris.

Shortly after 7 p.m., police were called to an apartment building on West River Street following an alleged fight.

“One of our officers … discovered a crime scene (with) two individuals present. The individuals were both injured,” Brant County OPP Insp. Dave Durant told CTV News.

Piecing the evening together, police now believe one man had entered the apartment with the intent of attacking somebody inside.

The man believed to be the intended victim wasn’t home initially, and later returned to the building to find his alleged attacked in the apartment.

One of the two men found at the apartment was taken to a Hamilton hospital with serious injuries.

By Monday afternoon, police said his condition was stable.

The other man was treated at a local hospital for less severe injuries, and then taken into police custody.

Christopher Laframboise, 35, was charged Monday with breaking and entering, as well as aggravated assault.

Police say they want to hear from anyone who saw or heard anything suspicious in the area.
