A 28-year-old Brantford woman is facing assault charges after a daylight attack in the city’s downtown.
Police said a 32-year-old man was stabbed in the back at around 2:30 p.m. Friday in the area of Colborne and Water Streets.
The man was taken to a Hamilton hospital and required stitches to close his wound, but is expected to make a full recovery.
Police said witnesses aided in the investigation and helped them identify the suspect, who was arrested at her home at about 10:30 p.m.
She has been charged with assault with a weapon and assault causing bodily harm.
Police said the attack was not random and that the man and woman were known to each other.
