Waterloo Regional police responded to a serious two-vehicle crash in Wilmot Township Monday evening.

Around 6:30 p.m., a loaded grain truck and an SUV collided at the intersection of Puddicombe Road and Bridge Street along the southern edge of Waterloo Region.

Police say the grain truck was on travelling on Puddicombe Road when the SUV failed to stop at stop sign on Bridge, driving directly into the path of the truck.

The passenger of the SUV, 62-year-old woman from Dutton, was extracted by Wilmot firefighters and airlifted to a London hospital with serious injuries.

The driver of the SUV, a 63-year-old London woman, was charged with Careless Driving.
