A new deal between the Region of Waterloo and its 131 public health nurses has been given the go-ahead.

Regional councillors approved the three-year-old contract with the Ontario Nurses Association on Tuesday.

The agreement includes a 1.25 per cent wage increase retroactive to July 2016, another 1.25 per cent increase as of this July, and a two per cent increase for January 2018.

It also features what the region called “minor adjustments” to health benefits and premiums.
