A Kitchener teen required medical treatment after being hit with a water balloon thrown from a passing car.

Police say the incident occurred Saturday morning at about 2:15 a.m., on King Street North in Waterloo.

The 17-year-old girl was walking southbound on King near Bricker Avenue when she was hit in the face with the balloon.

The girl received medical treatment for minor facial injuries.

Police describe the vehicle as a silver car, last seen travelling northbound on King.
