A police chase in Kitchener ended with police seizing two trucks and what they’re calling an “obscure collection of items.”

Wednesday afternoon, Waterloo Regional Police officers paid a visit to an address on Howe Drive, in the area of Ottawa Street and Westmount Road.

They had been following a man wanted on a number of outstanding warrants.

When the man realized what was going on, police say, he tried to make a getaway.

“A short foot pursuit ensued when he fled the officers, and an arrest took place shortly after,” said police spokesperson Alana Holtom.

The man was allegedly in possession of two stolen vehicles at the time.

Inside one of the vehicles, police found items including a generator, large truck tires, tools and magazines.

Holtom says detectives are working to figure out where the items – which have a total value in the thousands of dollars – came from.

Nathan Johnson, 25, faces 10 charges including theft and possession of stolen property.

He made a brief court appearance Thursday and remains in custody.
