Two people were taken to hospital Tuesday afternoon following a head-on crash in northwest Waterloo.

Emergency crews were called to Conservation Drive, near Lake Louise Boulevard, around 12:30 p.m.

Involved in the crash were an SUV and a Canada Post van.

“At some point in time … (the van driver) lost control of his vehicle and crossed the centre line, head-on into a westbound vehicle,” Waterloo Regional Police Sgt. Terri Turner told CTV News.

The 28-year-old man driving the van and 44-year-old woman driving the SUV were both taken to hospital.

Neither of them were believed to have suffered life-threatening injuries, police said.

Road conditions and speed are being investigated as possible contributing factors to the crash.

“We’re cautioning people just to slow down and take it easy on the roads,” Turner said.
