Police are investigating two separate incidents in which kids were approached by a strange man while walking home from school in Elmira.

Waterloo Regional Police say the incidents took place a week apart, on two Monday afternoons – Jan. 25 and Feb. 1.

Both cases involved children walking along Meadowlark Road and finding the man running toward them.

Both times, police say, the kids were able to run away from the area and make it home.

Police describe the man as white and approximately 20 years old. They say he was wearing a thigh-length black coat.

Anyone with information is asked to give police a call.
