A 22-year-old man faces charges including dangerous driving, stunt driving, flight from police in connection with a pair of videos he allegedly posted online.

The videos were posted to an Instagram account after a pair of incidents in Waterloo Region – one in North Dumfries in June, and one in Kitchener in September – that both involved motorcycles.

Waterloo Regional Police say the June incident involved the man and another motorcyclist driving through the scene of a serious collision, even as officers attempted to stop them.

The Instagram video is captioned with the phrase “the cops felt like they needed to stop me:/ can’t stop me doeeeeee lol I cruised my way out.”

The 22-year-old had previously been convicted of dangerous driving and was a disqualified driver at the time of the June incident, police allege.

In September, police say, the man was driving along Homer Watson Boulevard at more than 40 km/h in excess of the speed limit when officers attempted to pull him over.

That time, he allegedly escaped police by driving through a red light and nearly colliding with another vehicle.

The Instagram post for that event features the phrase “Just when I thought I lost him … :/ this guy went through 3 red lights for me at 12pm rush hour. I guess nothing really happy here in the Kitchener Waterloo area.”

In both cases, police say, he had a GoPro camera attached to his motorcycle helmet.

Neil Briones, 22, was arrested earlier this week.

The full list of charges against him also includes driving while disqualified, possessing unauthorized licence plates and wearing an improper helmet.
