Wellington County OPP say they’re looking for two people who were the subject of a police chase in the Drayton area last week.
According to police, the chase began Friday afternoon when officers saw the small beige pickup truck travel through the intersection of Concession Road 8 and Wellington Road 10 near Moorefield without stopping for the stop sign.
Police say they attempted to stop the vehicle, but it continued to travel eastbound and proceeded into Drayton’s town centre.
As it passed through Drayton, the truck allegedly knocked over the flagpole at the cenotaph, which resulted in the damaged truck beginning to leak fluids.
Attempts to stop the truck were aborted as it headed toward downtown Drayton, in the interest of public safety.
Police say the truck was later found abandoned on Wellington Road 11 and was previously used in a criminal offence.
Anyone with information regarding the truck or the two people seen inside it is asked to contact police.
