One person is dead after a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle on Highway 401 Tuesday evening.
Essex County OPP were called to a crash on the 401 just on the south edge of Windsor around 10:40 p.m.
Officials say a pedestrian was struck and killed and the vehicle involved failed to remain at the scene.
Police are looking for a light brown van or SUV that was seen in the area at the time of the collision.
The eastbound lanes of the 401 were closed as police conducted their investigation.
Anyone who may have witnessed the pedestrian being struck is asked to contact police.
