Derrick Lawlor- the man accused of murder after Mark McCreadie's body was found in Victoria Park in April - has killed before.

Court documents obtained by CTV say Lawlor was convicted of manslaughter in 1985 in Newfoundland and was sentenced to four years behind bars for the death of Locklyn Hutchings.

The two men were staying at a cabin near the town of Victoria and Hutchings suffocated to death.

Now, Lawlor is accused of strangling McCreadie here in Kitchener. The body of McCreadie, 50, was found in April, in a wooded area near Victoria Park.

Days later, 52-year-old Derrick Lawlor was charged with aggravated assault.

Lawlor is making a court appearance today.
