A fatal motor vehicle collision occurred on Sparta Line, west of Fairview Road, Saturday afternoon in Central Elgin.
Elgin County Ontario Provincial Police say a 59-year-old man operating a motorcycle lost control and fell off the bike, which then slid approximately 50m along the roadway and collided with the rear of a Ford pick-up truck, who had been trying to make a left turn.
Police say the force of the impact trapped the driver of the motorcycle under the truck, and he was pronounced dead on scene.
Police have identified the driver of the motorcycle as Michael Turvey of London, ON.
According to police, the 35-year-old London driver of the pick-up truck was not injured.
Sparta Line between Fairview Road and Stone Church Road was closed for approximately five hours.
