It's estimated that one in six Ontario couples struggle with infertility.

Many of those couples turn to in-vitro fertilization as a means of realizing their dreams of parenthood.

The procedure is safe and secure, but also costly -- and at this point,  not covered by the provincial health care system.

In a special series airing this week, CTV's David Imrie explores the ins and outs of IVF, and looks at past promises by the province to pay for the procedure.
